Ella Zwagerman

FOOD TECHNOLOGY
Ella is a Development Technologist at Fonterra Oceania with a background in food science and human nutrition. Growing up on a dairy farm in Southland, she brings an agricultural perspective to her role and is dedicated to creating value within the food industry. 

With a passion for sustainable food systems, outside of she is working on her  Master’s in Sustainable Business in the hopes of being able to integrate sustainable practices into the work that she does as a technologist. 

Ella is motivated by being able to contribute to positive outcomes for farmers, while delivering safe and delicious products to consumers. She feels lucky to be able to contribute to the growth of the New Zealand food and fibre sector without having to be directly on farm. 

She is looking forward to collaborating with peers to drive innovation and positive change in the industry and hopes that FFYN can play a part in this. She’s excited to continue to be a council member for the Food and Fibre Youth Network.
