Attracting, retaining and inspiring youth in the Food and Fibre Sector
We are pleased to announce the results of our survey in late 2023, which looked at attracting and retaining youth in the food and fibre sector. A big thanks again to those who contributed. Here is a snapshot of some of our key findings:
- Drivers for career choice varied across industries, however three factors were common: variety in day-to-day tasks, good career opportunities, and passion for agriculture.
- While 82% of participants had received development opportunities at work, respondents had a desire for additional development such as peer-to-peer learning, greater exposure to different parts of the food systems, and technical upskilling in areas of growing importance.
- Instead of the usual white paper report, we have produced a slide pack which covers our key findings. You can check out the findings by clicking below.
