William Robertson

Agri-Business
I grew up on a small dairy farm in Ōhaupō, Waikato and studied a Bachelor of Agri Commerce at Massey University. At uni, I developed an interest in international trade and was fortunate to study agriculture and business at Shanghai University and throughout Southeast Asia. Following my degree, I completed a Certificate in Te Ara Reo Māori and am working towards becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst.

I currently work at Fonterra as a Venture Analyst. My role sees me researching market trends and immerging technologies within nutritional science. Our team’s purpose is to help unlock new value streams from milk and build income resilience for our farmer shareholders. We keep a close eye on the role New Zealand could play in the future of nutrition and what we can do to get there. I’m passionate about innovation and change, but equally interested in ensuring regulation is in line to support our industry today.

Outside of work, I enjoy getting stuck in as Chairperson of the Auckland City Young Farmers Club, running the side streets of Auckland and anything that involves the outdoors.
