This year in Ōtoutahi Christchurch, the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) and Boma joined forces to create a 4-day conference covering all aspects of leading academic research, industry challenges and future opportunities. Over 600 people attended the conference from all over the world.
It was great to see so many members of our network attending with support from their industries. The speakers were challenging but hopeful that we can drive the direction of our industry.
Alongside the conference, IFAMA’s annual Global Case Competition was run. New Zealand entered 6 teams to compete against 16 international teams. In a stellar performance, New Zealand teams placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their respective categories!
1st in Early Career Professionals - FoodHQ1 (Alex Tomkins, Sam Pike, Sneha Chatterjee & William Robertson)
2nd in Graduates - Lincoln University (Ethan Gillespie, Fergus Lee, Georgia Moody, Kate Sims, Grace Moscrip)
3rd in Post Graduate Division- FoodHQ 3 (Alex Kanon, Louis Bately, Reuben Dods, Katie Henderson)
Keep an eye out for next year's conference being held in Palmerston North.
